Bringing Social and Emotional Learning into the Classroom

EdTech Innovation Lab at GSVlabs and Digital Promise will be hosting the first event in a monthly educator speaker series, where they will be featuring educators from across the bay area to share their work with an audience of educators through engaging workshops and discussion.

This first event, Bringing Social and Emotional Learning into the Classroom with Roni Habib, Founder of EQ Schools, will take place at 6 pm on 2/24/2016 at GSVlabs (425 Broadway, Redwood City, CA, 94063). In this 90 minute workshop, Roni will be leading us through various SEL techniques we can incorporate into and around the classroom and lead a discussion for stakeholders of various K-12 administrative and teaching positions on how they can benefit from and support its use.

Please register by filling out our registration form here: http://bit.ly/gsvlabseducator and feel free to invite other educators (teachers, district office, county office, etc.) to register who you feel may benefit from attending this workshop. We enjoy when a diverse set of opinions are present!

Revised ISTE Standards

ISTE just released the first draft of the 2016 ISTE Standards for Students for public comment! In another exciting development, ISTE has created a packet that educators can use to gather feedback directly from students. Interested? Contact the refresh project manager for the info: Sarah Stoeckl, sstoeckl@iste.org.

Want more?
 *   Share your perspective on the draft of the 2016 student standards.
 *   Host a feedback forum with your colleagues. ISTE has created a toolkit that works for school or district meetings, virtual meetings, or interactive conference sessions.
 *   Share the news with your networks, even those unfamiliar with ISTE!
